Getting to Colorado / Utah
You can expect to pay approximately £500-£900 for return flights to Denver, USA from the UK depending on the time of year. Of course, special cheaper deals are often available from the various airlines. Whilst we don't include the flight in the price of the holiday we are happy to find flights suitable for the itinerary and dates for you. We have experience at finding great deals on flights and as such, we hope to find you the best deal possible.
We are happy for you to arrange your own flights too. Many major airlines fly to the USA every day. Before paying for your flights, we recommend you confirm with us that your holiday has reached the minimum number required and is confirmed to go ahead.
Included in the price of all USA holidays is a return transfer from Denver International Airport (DIA) to your holiday accomodation.
All USA holidays run Saturday - Saturday and we request that you arrive at DIA airport for the transfer ‘pick-up’ time of 5pm local time (BST-8). This will allow for an afternoon transfer and an early evening arrival at your first destination.
The only airline to fly directly to Denver International Airport (www.flydenver.com) is British Airways (www.ba.com). These flights fly from Heathrow on a daily basis.
Flights from Gatwick (www.gatwickairport.com), Manchester (www.manchesterairport.co.uk), Birmingham (www.bhx.co.uk) and Glasgow (www.glasgowairport.com) are all available but these all have stops at different ‘hub’ airports in Central/Eastern United States. This option is often cheaper and breaks up your journey. You will however, have to pass through US Immigration and Customs and recheck your baggage at this ‘hub’ airport.
Prices fluctuate depending on what time of year you are booking and what time of year you plan to travel. No one route or airline is regularly cheaper then another. It is well worth spending some time finding internet deals on the airlines own websites or on one of many travel search engines.
Baggage Allowance
Baggage limits are subject to change and you should always check with your travel agent before you book a flight. Weight limits and the number of items of luggage aloud, vary with different routes and different airlines. Also, it is the policy of many airlines to impose a surcharge for carriage of your bike (though this also often means it is allowed to be a bit heavier than a standard piece of luggage). This may be as much as US$90 per flight so it is worth finding out these details when comparing flight prices. If we sort your flights out we will obviously let you know these details but if you book your own flights we strongly recommend that you are sure of the airlines baggage policies before you arrive at check in.
